Well we've moved from Greenwood just a few miles up the hill to Torbrook to our small family farm. We're still serving the same area so don't worry, it just means we're having more fun on our days off. We raise chickens, ducks, turkeys and sheep up here as well as vegetables and fruit. We're so excited to be settling down on our own place at last! And wish you all a very happy and prosperous New Year for 2015.

Summer Special
Summer Weather is here!
And with it come the added burdens on fridges and freezers that are cooling and making ice at an increased rate. Keeping your freezer compartment tidy and leaving room for air to circulate improves performance and can minimize some frosting problems. Also, it's the air in the freezer that circulates in the fridge to cool it (for most models) so having good air flow also keeps your milk and veggies fresh. Is it time to give your fridge a spring clean? Choose a day before your compostables/garbage are picked up so that your bad food isn't sitting around too long and give a good sort through and clean to all your freezers and fridges, checking expiry dates and looking for freezer burned food. A clean and tidy appliance is more likely to run efficiently. Another thing to check are your seals...air leaking through seals can cause problems with moisture build up and frosting up of freezers. Be sure to wipe the bottom door seal on your fridge regularly, especially if you have kids. The number one cause of ripped seals is the seal itself being sticky and repeatedly pulled open.
